April 9, 2009-Sta-home Health & Hospice Participates in Relay for Life

Joyce Caracci, founder of Sta-home is a cancer survivor which prompted her iinvolvement in Relay for Life.  Sta-home conducts various fundraising events across our service area during the year to raise money.  Each local branch raises funds by various means such as selling lunches, raffles, paying $2.00 each to wear jeans on Fridays, and whatever else is creative and fun.

Debbie Pierce, Administrative Assistant, has a fellow caregiver who will never forget one particular act of kindness: When her patient needed a vital medication no local pharmacy had, she could neither leave him alone to pick it up herself, or arrange to have it delivered. Debbie volunteered her time and gas money to bring the medicine to the patient herself—over 100 miles round trip.
